Aesthetic Biostimulators
Restore collagen and elastin naturally, enhance facial contours and revitalize your skin with professional aesthetic biostimulator treatments at Aesthetistry Med Spa, serving Leawood, Prairie Village, Lee's Summit, Mission Hills and nearby communities. As we age, natural collagen and elastin diminish causing significant visible changes in skin appearance. Muscle weakening and bone resorption leads to deeper facial folds, loss of cheek and temple volume, thinner lips, loss of chin and jaw definition. Aesthetic biostimulators provide a safe and effective solution to rejuvenate your appearance.

What Are Biostimulators?
Aesthetic biostimulators are cosmetic injectable treatments that stimulate the body's natural production of collagen, elastin, and other proteins that gradually work to improve skin quality, texture, firmness, and volume. Biostimulators activate the body's own regenerative processes for a more natural, long-lasting result. Primary biostimulator active ingredients are biocompatible and biodegradable meaning they are safely absorbed over time by the body. Biostimulators work by creating a controlled inflammatory response in the deep dermal layer of the skin, which prompts the body's own natural healing response producing new collagen and elastin, helping to rebuild the skin's underlying structure and support network. Biostimulators are ideal for those seeking a natural, long-term, restorative solution for age-related concerns like fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, and facial volume loss that work with the body naturally to improve skin health from within.
Our Aesthetic Biostimulator Options
-
Poly-L-lactic Acid (PLLA): Found in Sculptra®, PLLA is a synthetic polymer derived from fruit acids that works gradually over several months. After injection, microscopic particles act as a scaffold deep within the dermis, stimulating fibroblast cells to produce new collagen and elastin.
-
Calcium Hydroxyapatite (CaHA): Found in Radiesse®, CaHA is a naturally occurring mineral that is also found in bones. Due to the gel carrier and microsphere structure, it provides an immediate lifting effect while simultaneously promoting long-term collagen production.
-
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF): Revolutionary skin treatments that use components derived from the patient's own blood to stimulate collagen production and healing, providing natural overall skin rejuvenation and tissue regeneration.
-
Exosomes and Polynucleotides: These treatments use advanced cellular components (like DNA fragments in the polynucleotides), which are used to help promote cell repair and regeneration at the cellular level.
What to Expect During Treatment
Aesthetic biostimulator procedures are quick, typically lasting 30 to 60 minutes depending on the number of areas treated. May be administered as a series of 2 to 4 treatments spaced 5 to 8 weeks apart. Results develop gradually with each session as your own body produces collagen for a refreshed, youthful look. Some patients may experience minor swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising, which usually resolves within two to seven days. There is no scarring, and the treatment is safe and minimally invasive.
Duration and Maintenance
Results from aesthetic biostimulators can last up to a couple of years, depending on the product, age, skin type, lifestyle, and muscle activity. Follow-up treatments can be scheduled as desired to maintain a youthful, refreshed appearance.

You may get some bruising with this procedure so it is recommended to schedule this treatment when you don’t have anything major going on. To minimize bruising, avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, Advil, Aleve, Excedrin, or fish oil supplements for 10 to 14 days prior to treatment. FAQs - Aesthetic Biostimulators
What are aesthetic biostimulators and how do they work?
Aesthetic biostimulators are injectable treatments that stimulate the body’s natural collagen and elastin production to improve skin tone, texture, and volume. They trigger a controlled regenerative response in the deep dermis, helping rebuild the skin’s support structure for smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.
How long do results from aesthetic biostimulators last?
Results typically last between one and two years, depending on the product used, your age, skin type, and lifestyle. Treatments like Sculptra® and Radiesse® gradually improve skin quality over several months, with results that can be maintained through periodic touch-up sessions.
What areas can be treated with aesthetic biostimulators?
Biostimulators are versatile and can enhance multiple areas including the cheeks, temples, jawline, neck, décolletage, and hands. They restore lost volume, improve definition, and promote smoother, more elastic skin across the treated regions.
What should I expect during and after the treatment?
Each session lasts 30–60 minutes depending on the treatment area. Some mild redness, swelling, or tenderness may occur but typically resolves within a few days. Because biostimulators work gradually, results develop over several weeks as your body produces new collagen naturally.
Who is a good candidate for aesthetic biostimulators?
Ideal candidates are individuals experiencing facial volume loss, skin laxity, or fine lines who prefer a natural, long-lasting rejuvenation without surgery. A consultation at Aesthetistry Med Spa ensures a customized plan tailored to your goals and skin condition.
